A mezzanine floor is a middle floor, which lies between the main floors of the building, or structure. Since it falls between two floors, it has low ceiling and does not come in the counting of the floors. The floor projects from the wall and partly covers the floor beneath. Due to this they share the same ceiling with the floor below. This also ensures that the mezzanine floors do not block the view of the ceiling from the lower floor.
